ISP Key Responsibilities

Capital Project Management

  • To be responsible for the capital projects portfolio management for the region, including development, deployment and administration of all related policies and procedures.
  • To support schools in developing and fine-tuning capital expenditure requests, development and submittal.
  • To implement and maintain a capital assets life cycle management system, following group and international best practices.
  • To develop and implement regional project management guidelines.
  • To determine school pupil capacity and track and report all changes.

Maintenance Management

  • To provide guidance in maintenance management at school level, including providing the most suitable preventive maintenance framework for the region.
  • To provide full technical support to the school’s facilities manager or responsible person.
  • To maintain a good working relationship and liaise with Schools landlords, regarding responsibilities, requests and claims, all in a timely manner.
  • To be responsible for the overall security arrangements of each school premises, ensuring that security personnel and all school staff are aware of all relevant security procedures, use of alarm systems and key holding responsibilities. Make sure that all aspects of school security are maintained under constant review and are updated, with any changes appropriately communicated in a timely manner.
  • To develop periodic reports and key performance indicators related to facilities maintenance, budget control and capital expenditure.
  • To be responsible for developing, reviewing and updating school specific contingency and recovery plans, through consultation with Heads of School, and to ensure that all procedures are clearly communicated to all staff and members of the school management team.
  • To be aware of and adhere to all school rules, regulations, legislation and procedures, national legislation (Health and Safety, ACHS, Civil protection, etc).
  • To maintain confidentiality of information acquired in the course of undertaking all duties for the region.
  • To be responsible for your own continued self-development, undertaking training as appropriate.
  • Make sure all school related building, operational and construction permits are maintained up to date.
  • To undertake any other duties appropriate to this post, as and when required to do so.

Health & Safety

  • Help to enforce the annual plan for fire, earthquake, and lockdown drills for all schools in the region.
  • Collaborate to correct the observations raised in the annual H&S audit of each school.
  • Participate in general training and other activities.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor degree as Architect or Civil Engineer.
  • Certified project manager professional will be a plus.
  • Fluent English; fluent Spanish is a plus
  • Active driving license
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in design&construction, project management and change management, budget (expenses and capital), managing in-house and outsourced staff, managing facilities in a school/university environment is desirable, managing third party contractors
  • Understanding of child protection (safeguarding) and to support the HR Dept. in making sure all staff have received appropriate safeguarding training.
  • Knowledge of development, planning and execution of preventive maintenance routines.
  • Knowledge of ‘ACHS, Civil protection, fire department, labor law, health and safety, construction parameters and educational infrastructure’ requirements.
  • Knowledge of electrical safety, working at heights, personal protective equipment requirements.
  • Knowledge of property security, access control, CCTV operation, security incident management, car & pedestrians transit regulations.
  • Knowledge of hygiene in schools, water purification, wastewater treatment.
