NOV Subsea Production Systems (NOV SPS) designs and manufactures flexible pipes and specific, innovative products for the offshore oil and gas industry. We continuously push the boundaries of our capabilities and for this we are looking for a Project Manager – New Product Development, to join our global team and support our growth in Brazil.

You will report to the Director of New Product Development (NPD) and join a global team of NPD Project and Technical Leads, Project Coordinators. This team interfaces with the entire organization for manufacturing process and materials development, engineering and design, prototype manufacturing, test and product certification.

As Project Manager for New Product Developments, you leverage your skill set to resolve challenges in complex project execution based on people skills, agility and sound engineering understanding. You do so effectively through a structured approach, ensuring documentation and traceability of decisions. You have proven project management skills within planning, scope breakdown and resource estimation. Your job will naturally entail a great deal of coordination, communication and reporting, where you collaborate with a very wide range of stakeholders, both internally and externally towards suppliers and customers.
In this role, you will be part of a project management team responsible for a large qualification and testing scope for a new product line within flexible pipes. As Project Manager, you manage all aspects of new product development project execution, supporting prototype manufacturing in the factory and driving processes for risk management, planning and scheduling, cost and supplier follow-up, people and team coherence, stakeholder management and communication on all levels.
In addition to having a solid project management background (on top of an engineering degree), you must be capable of the following:
We expect you to have an acute sense of technical possibilities and the ability to make balanced decisions in ambiguous situations, by being aware of drivers, risks and consequences of decisions. As a person, you are self-driven and have a natural ability to inspire others. You thrive when solving complex problems through dialog, planning and priority setting – including putting it on paper.
Finally, it will be a clear advantage if you are familiar with unbonded flexible pipe systems, design methodologies, tests and customer requirements for qualification and verification.
