Responsibilities

The Production Manager is responsible for all daily activities within the plant including production functions, plant organization, housekeeping and other duties as required. The Production Manager is also involved with all plant personnel including hiring, employee development, terminations and disciplinary actions. This position requires the flexibility to work 40+ hours per week and weekends as required. The Production Manager reports directly to the Plant Manager.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  1. Practice proper PPE compliance and maintain a safe working record and environment.
  2. Maintain communication with other ADS manufacturing facilities and offices.
  3. Immediately communicate unsafe conditions, acts or injuries to Plant Manager.
  4. Scheduling of weekly production and tooling changeovers.
  5. Practice proper forklift operation and preventive maintenance.
  6. Maintain ADS product and resin sampling schedule.
  7. Meet or exceed facility housekeeping expectations.
  8. Review of inventory reports (Min/Max, Over-allocated).
  9. Maintain and build job skills through company and outside training programs.
  10. Ensure that ADS and AASHTO quality specifications are met for all products produced.
  11. Meet or exceed standard production efficiencies on all production lines.
  12. Ensure Wired Plant compliance.
  13. Traveling Tooling scheduling and management.
  14. Troubleshoot equipment/process problems.
  15. TIR maintenance and compliance.
  16. Raw material inventory and management.
  17. Ensure proper personnel administration.
  18. Understand and practice ADS CORE VALUES.
  19. Facilitation of personnel training and certification.
  20. Promote a positive and transparent work environment.
  21. Ensure proper management of operating supply purchases via the internal purchase order system or company credit card.

Job Skills:

This position should possess the following skills/knowledge:

  1. Leadership skills.
  2. Mathematical skills.
  3. Inventory Management.
  4. Intermediate computer skills.
  5. Familiarity with BOM products.
  6. Strong Interpersonal skills.
  7. Complete knowledge of all ADS products.
  8. Operating system knowledge including Inventory and Production functions.
  9. Mechanical Aptitude.
  10. Proficient ADS production equipment knowledge.

Educational Requirements:

  1. Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent.
  2. Vocational or college degree preferred.

Preferred Experience:

  1. Supervisory training or related experience.
  2. Basic industrial maintenance/mechanical training or equivalent.

Physical Requirements:

  1. The employee will lift and move heavy items, which will require the ability to repeatedly lift 75 pounds to a height of 6 feet.
  2. The employee will be working for a specified amount of time and moving around at all times, which will require the ability to stand and be mobile for a minimum of 8 continuous hours.
  3. Facilities can be extremely hot or cold at times, so the employee must have the ability to perform physical labor for extended periods of time in temperature extremes.
  4. The employee will be handling materials daily, which requires the ability to use hands, arms and legs to physically handle and transport finished goods.
  5. The position requires full range of body motion on a daily basis including twisting, bending, reaching, squatting and ability to mount/dismount industrial equipment and vehicles.
