JOB PURPOSE
The Product Development Coordinator for the Ice Cream category will focus on developing unique flavours and innovative ideas, using culinary skills to create new and exciting ice cream products.
WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE
- Act as the Formulation Work Stream technologist, collaborating with Brand Development and cross-functional project teams to ensure ingredients meet the product brief and are delivered on time and in full. Experiment with ingredients, techniques, and flavour combinations to create innovative, trend-setting products.
- Work in the end-to-end product development cycle for the ice cream category, focusing on creating new recipes, flavours, textures, and formats through culinary expertise.
- Internal training/upskilling of product development/showcasing/storytelling.
- Champion culinary creativity across Latam RD&I team, supporting to drive culinary visions within ice cream teams.
- Project and innovation roadmap inspiration sessions.
- When assigned, act as the Technical Project Leader, accountable for developing products for innovation, 5S, and simplification projects.
- Define and select sustainable, cost-efficient ingredients that provide the necessary functional and sensory benefits, ensuring product stability throughout its shelf life.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure products are scalable, high-quality, and aligned with consumer preferences and brand identity.
- Develop formulations that meet quality and technical standards while also delighting consumers and strengthening brand power.
- Manage the creation of technical specifications for all ingredients used in project development.
- Provide technical briefings to Partner to Win suppliers, exploring new technologies and innovations.
- Ensure compliance with the Code of Business Principles and all SHE (Safety, Health, and Environment) and QA (Quality Assurance) policies.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED
Experiences & Qualifications
- University Degree in Science, Chemical Engineering, Food Engineering. Post graduation/specialization in Gastronomy or Confectionary will be considered; however, it is important to meet the required qualifications.
- Experience in R&D, flavour creation, formulation development, and some experience as a chef or in a similar activity is a plus.
- Intermediate to Advanced Level English (must be able to write emails and reports in English and actively participate in English-speaking business meetings).
- Knowledge of Food or Ice Cream manufacturing processes preferred.
- Work presence in Valinhos is needed.
