The Institute of Astronomy, Geophysics, and Atmospheric Sciences at the University of São Paulo (IAG-USP) in Brazil offers a Post-Doctoral Fellowship to investigate seasonal and subseasonal climate forecasting procedures, focusing on global climate model products for hydroclimatological applications in Water Security, emphasizing extreme rainfall, droughts, and soil moisture stress.
The fellow will carry out research under the aegis of the Science Center for Development of Water Security in Critical Zones, a SCD supported by the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) and hosted by IAG-USP.
Ph.D. in Meteorology or related fields, knowledge of climatology and climate forecasting, experience in programming languages and statistics, global numerical modeling, analysis of large datasets, and seasonal and/or subseasonal forecasting.
Open to candidates of all nationalities with a Ph.D. obtained by the start of the fellowship and no more than 7 years before this date. The selected candidate will receive a FAPESP Post-Doctoral Fellowship with a monthly stipend of BRL 12,000.00 for 36 months, plus a 10% Technical Reserve for expenses directly related to research activities.
