Offshore Maintenance Superintendent

BW Energy is currently in search of a Maintenance Superintendent to join our team in Brazil. Please note that this is an offshore position.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

1. Manage and control the Maintenance Department to ensure safe and efficient functioning of all technical facilities.
2. Responsible for all maintenance functions (mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and telecommunication).
3. Responsible for operation, condition monitoring, and troubleshooting of relevant utility systems.
4. Responsible for technical integrity of the hull, structure, tanks, topside vessels, and equipment, etc.
5. Responsible for sufficient bunker on board. Manage and plan bunkering operation.
6. Responsible for good housekeeping in all areas of responsibility.
7. Responsible for modifications under the management of change procedure. Perform criticality assessment of the equipment. Assign and review maintenance options.
8. Liaise with OIM and other Department Heads for planning maintenance and operation activities.
9. Responsible for pre-commissioning and commissioning during operation.
10. Verify and review the Company's Policies and Procedures through the Offshore Management Review. Develop and revise procedures and standing instructions for the Production Department.
11. Ensure the Permit To Work system is controlled and adhered to as per requirements of the system.
12. Ensure that regulatory and class requirements are adhered to.
13. Responsible for stock control of spare parts and consumables within the area of responsibility.
14. Responsible for control of hazardous substances that are used/stored within the Maintenance department.
15. Responsible for the relevant Risk Assessments.
16. Participate in the investigation of accidents and incidents. Administer Company reporting System report.
17. Liaise closely with onshore management, TMS, and HSSEQ.
18. Responsible for the Computerized Maintenance Management System. Unit Computerised Maintenance Management System Administrator.
19. Responsible that vendors and contractors are managed safely and effectively.
20. Responsible for checking vendors and contractors' equipment condition and certificates.
21. Undertake training relevant to the position requirements.
22. Responsible for the training of subordinates and trainees.

Requirements:

Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar. Long relevant experience may compensate for formal education.

Experience:

1. Ideally seven years’ experience as an engineer in the Oil and Gas industry with at least two years in a supervisory position.
2. Preferably FPSO or offshore platform experience.
3. Preferably previous experience from working in a multicultural environment.

Interpersonal Skills:

• Ability to function independently and in a team.
• Good interpersonal skills as well as good judgment.
• Excellent spoken and written communicative skills. Ability to communicate at all levels.

Knowledge:

Knowledge of the relevant requirements of the classification societies and international rules and regulations. Good computer and use of computerized maintenance management skills.
