About the Job:
As a Medical Device Business Development Manager at MedTech World, you’ll play a critical role in expanding our reach and driving revenue growth for one of the world's leading MedTech and HealthTech conferences. In this position, you'll develop and implement strategic sales plans to attract sponsors, exhibitors, and partners from across the healthcare and technology spectrum, including startups, investors, service providers, hospitals, and industry leaders. Your role will involve identifying new business opportunities, cultivating relationships with key stakeholders, and working collaboratively with our marketing and event teams to ensure our flagship event, MedTech Malta, continues to be a pivotal platform for innovation and collaboration. The ideal candidate is a results-driven, motivated leader with a deep understanding of the healthcare industry and a proven track record in sales management. Key Responsibilities:
- Sales & Business Development Strategy Development: Design and execute comprehensive sales strategies to attract sponsors, exhibitors, and partners for MedTech World’s flagship event, MedTech Malta, as well as other conferences.
- Revenue Growth: Drive revenue by setting and achieving sales targets, optimising sales pipelines, and identifying new business opportunities across the MedTech and HealthTech sectors.
- Relationship Building: Establish and maintain relationships with a broad range of stakeholders, including startups, investors, service providers, hospitals, and industry leaders, to foster long-term partnerships.
- Market Analysis: Analyze industry trends and competitive landscapes to identify growth opportunities and inform sales strategy.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the marketing, event planning, and sponsorship teams to ensure consistent branding and seamless integration of sales initiatives into overall event goals.
- Sales Reporting and Forecasting: Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and analyses for senior management to track progress and inform strategic decisions.
- Customer Experience: Ensure a high level of client satisfaction by understanding customer needs, resolving issues promptly, and delivering exceptional service throughout the sales process.
- Representation: Act as a key ambassador for MedTech World, representing the organization at industry events, networking functions, and client meetings to strengthen brand presence and drive engagement.
This role requires an experienced, motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced, innovative environment and has a deep understanding of the MedTech and HealthTech sectors.
Qualifications:
- Experience in Sales & Business Development: Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in sales, business development, or account management, preferably within the MedTech, HealthTech, or healthcare sectors. Relevant experience in other industries will also be highly valued, particularly if it demonstrates strong sales performance, relationship-building, and an ability to adapt to new markets or sectors.
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Healthcare Administration, or a related field (an MBA or equivalent advanced degree is a plus).
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of the MedTech, HealthTech, and broader healthcare landscape, including familiarity with industry trends, stakeholders, and market dynamics.
- Proven Track Record: Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding sales targets, building and managing pipelines, and driving revenue growth.
- Relationship-Building Skills: Excellent interpersonal and networking skills, with the ability to cultivate relationships with a range of stakeholders, from startups and investors to service providers and healthcare institutions.
- Strategic Mindset: Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities to identify market opportunities, assess competition, and develop effective sales strategies.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present ideas and proposals effectively to clients and team members.
- Project Management: Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Customer-Focused: A proactive, customer-centric attitude with a commitment to providing outstanding client service.
- Technical Proficiency: Comfortable using CRM software, sales analytics tools, and Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with virtual meeting platforms is a plus.
