Linux System Administrator

Location: Remote (EST Hours: 11 PM - 8 AM)

Our client is seeking an experienced Linux Administrator to join their team. This role is ideal for professionals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a strong background in Linux administration, automation, and AWS cloud services. The successful candidate will work during night shift hours (11 PM - 8 AM EST) to support critical systems and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Manage and maintain Linux environments, including RHEL 6/7/8/9, Amazon Linux 2, Ubuntu, and CentOS.
2. Work extensively with AWS services, particularly EC2, AMI, EBS, S3, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and IAM.
3. Utilize Ansible or Ansible Automation Platform (AAP) to write and manage complex playbooks for automation.
4. Develop and maintain scripting solutions using Bash, Python, Terraform, and YAML to automate system tasks.
5. Administer and manage RedHat Satellite, overseeing master satellite server and capsule server infrastructure for a fleet of approximately 35 ships.
6. Support and troubleshoot file transfer protocols such as SFTP, FTP, FTPS, SCP, CIFS, SMB, and NFS.
7. Work with virtualization technologies like VMware and VMware Cloud (VMC).
8. Configure and maintain web technologies, including HTTPD, Tomcat, and NGINX.
9. Utilize Git, GitLab, or GitHub for version control and code management.
10. Document processes and manage incidents using ServiceNow, Jira, and Confluence.
11. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide 24/7 system support as required.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

1. 3+ years of experience in Linux administration with strong troubleshooting skills.
2. Expertise in automation tools, particularly Ansible Tower/AAP.
3. Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services.
4. Strong scripting skills in Bash, Python, Terraform, and YAML.
5. Experience managing RedHat Satellite infrastructure.
6. Understanding of file transfer protocols and security best practices.
7. Experience working with virtualization and containerization technologies.
8. Strong documentation and communication skills.
9. Ability to work independently and take initiative in solving complex issues.

Nice to Have:

1. Experience with Docker and containerization technologies.
2. Familiarity with Morpheus Hybrid Cloud.
3. Knowledge of Tanium Endpoint Management.
4. Exposure to database technologies such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MySQL.
