On the behalf of our client, a specialist TIC laboratory, we are seeking an experienced Lab/Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of a busy analytical laboratory in the Lower Mainland, BC. This leadership role involves managing workflows, staffing, equipment, and quality control to ensure efficiency, safety, and adherence to industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee laboratory operations, staff training, and performance management for direct reports and wider team.
Ensure efficient workflow, turnaround time, and resource allocation.
Maintain safety, quality control, and compliance with ISO 9001 & ISO/IEC 17025.
Manage budgets, cost controls, P&L and operational performance.
Drive continuous improvement and operational efficiencies.
Engage with clients and address inquiries in a timely manner.
Develop and improve processes.
Negotiate with vendors and suppliers as relate to all aspects of the business.
Ensuring data integrity and performance of LIMS system.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Geochemistry, or a related field.
10+ years of experience in laboratory testing, ideally within a TIC lab, with a preference to geochemistry experience.
Proven experience leading teams of 20+ employees in a lab setting.
Strong financial acumen and experience with KPIs, budgeting, and strategic planning.
Proficiency in LIMS, analytical techniques, and lab instrumentation.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
