What you will do

1. Design, build, and maintain messaging products that enhance Indeed’s hiring journey and user experience;
2. Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define requirements and deliver high-quality, scalable solutions;
3. Tackle technical debt and ensure system stability by maintaining existing applications and addressing unanticipated requests from external teams;
4. Implement efficient and scalable solutions using Java, Kotlin, or Scala for the backend, with React and Redux on the frontend;
5. Use best practices to write clean, maintainable code, conduct code reviews, and mentor junior engineers on the team.

Must haves

1. 3 years of experience using Java, Kotlin, or Scala;
2. Frontend development experience;
3. Experience with modern databases such as MongoDB, MySQL, or other SQL/NoSQL databases;
4. Expertise in building RESTful or GraphQL APIs, with a focus on scalability and maintainability;
5. Upper-Intermediate English Level.

Nice to haves

1. Experience with database design and optimization;
2. Familiarity with messaging queue technologies, such as Kafka or RabbitMQ;
3. Strong software development background with hands-on coding experience;
4. Solid understanding of computer science concepts and software design principles;
5. Ability to work effectively in an agile environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
