Job Description
The IT Specialist is responsible for assembling and maintaining in-house technology equipment and studio assets. This includes installing, configuring, diagnosing, repairing, upgrading and troubleshooting all studio hardware, software and equipment while ensuring its optimal performance.
Responsibilities
- Identify and deliver required hardware and software service levels.
- Provide hands-on assistance to the Technical Operations team and relay IT related recommendations.
- Install, configure, test, maintain and troubleshoot studio and network hardware, peripheral devices, scanning devices, POE camera equipment, and associated software.
- Perform on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of hardware/software problems for a variety of studio and network devices.
- Assist in the adaptation and incorporation of Audio/Video hardware.
- Familiarize with TechOps related gear, components, procedures, nomenclature, systems, etc., and remain up to date on relevant new technologies and developments.
- Respond to incoming calls, tickets, and/or e-mails regarding hardware problems.
- Contribute to and maintain proper documentation.
- Provide training to team members or other relevant personnel if needed.
Qualifications
- At least 1 year of experience in installing and troubleshooting MS Windows OS, Linux OS, desktop hardware, and in deploying and maintaining servers and network equipment.
- Experience with POE devices, such as CCTV cameras.
- Experience in running and terminating cable, such as Cat6, Cat5, coaxial etc.
- Experience in working in an Active Directory environment with systems tools such as a Wire Shark, Fluke Meter, Multi-meter, and other low voltage based tools.
- At least intermediate command of English.
- Previous experience working in a similar setting preferred.
- Readiness to travel occasionally (within LatAm and abroad).
- Ability to work in a deadline-based environment.
- Ability to use common hand and power tools.
