Healthcare Virtual Assistant (Usd & Remote)

Salary Range : $800 - $1,000 USD / month

Time : Full-time schedule. Availability between 10 AM and 8 PM US time and rotating Saturday shifts from 8 AM to either morning or afternoon.

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Virtual Assistant to join our team. This role will be crucial in providing efficient and effective support to our patients, primarily through WhatsApp communication, while also handling basic administrative tasks and ensuring a smooth patient experience. The ideal candidate will have some prior experience in a healthcare setting, enabling them to understand patient inquiries related to medication, prescriptions, and basic medical information. This position requires excellent communication skills in both English and Portuguese, as well as the ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Promptly and accurately respond to patient inquiries received via WhatsApp, addressing questions about medication refills, dosage instructions, prescription status, lab results, and other related concerns.
• Review daily appointment schedules to ensure all consultations are paid for and verify the active status of patient insurance.
• Manage copayments by requesting payment from patients who have an outstanding balance.
• Perform tasks assigned through our internal system, such as contacting patients for follow-ups, reaching out to labs for missing results, and assisting with scheduling lab appointments.
• Utilize iPlum to make calls and respond to text messages as needed (approximately 10% of communication).
• Maintain organized records of patient interactions and task completion.
• Identify and escalate urgent patient situations appropriately, such as significantly high blood pressure readings.
• Collaborate effectively with clinical and administrative staff to ensure seamless patient care.

Requirements

• Fluency in both English and Portuguese (verbal and written).
• Prior experience working in a healthcare setting (e.g., doctor’s office, pharmacy, or as a medical assistant).
• Familiarity with basic medical terminology and common medications (e.g., Lisinopril, Metformin).
• Proficiency in using WhatsApp for professional communication.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and remotely while maintaining productivity and professionalism.
