About the role:
The Head of Category & Supply Finance is responsible for leading the Financial Strategy that supports strong Business Performance of Our Portfolio and Supply Chain Operations. This role ensures the alignment of our Financial Goals with the overall Strategy of our Brands and Supply Chain, supporting decision-making process and efficiency to fuel profitable growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Strategy and Planning
- Develop and implement financial strategies for category management and supply chain operations.
- Lead the annual budgeting process, quarterly forecasts, and long-term financial planning.
- Ensure alignment with overall business objectives and regional targets.
- Lead financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes for Category & Supply Finance, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
- Provide strategic insights and recommendations to optimize costs, improve margins, and enhance overall financial performance.
- Support the development of long-term financial strategies to drive sustainable growth in the category and supply chain functions.
Business Partnering & Decision Support:- Partner with Marketing, Supply, and Procurement teams to drive financial discipline and enhance decision-making processes.
- Develop and implement financial models to support strategic initiatives, including cost efficiency programs and investment decisions.
- Work closely with commercial and supply chain teams to balance cost optimization with service level improvements.
Performance Management & Reporting:- Oversee financial reporting processes, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and compliance with global standards.
- Monitor key financial KPIs, identifying risks and opportunities to proactively drive corrective actions.
- Lead the evaluation of supply chain initiatives, ensuring value creation and alignment with business goals.
Operational Efficiency & Cost Optimization:- Drive cost efficiency programs across supply chain and procurement functions, ensuring sustainable improvements.
- Identify and implement best practices to enhance operational effectiveness and cost management.
- Lead financial assessments for CAPEX investments and operational expenditures, ensuring ROI-driven decision-making.
Leadership- Lead a team of finance professionals by providing direction, mentorship, and development opportunities.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and excellence within the finance team.
- Represent the finance function in cross-functional projects and initiatives.
Reporting & Compliance- Ensure accurate financial reporting in accordance with Diageo’s policies as well as local regulations.
- Maintain robust internal controls over all aspects of category & supply finance.
Key Requirements:
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (MBA preferred).
- Advanced English required– Spanish will be a plus.
- Extensive experience in finance roles, preferably within FMCG, Consumer Goods, or Manufacturing.
- Strong expertise in financial planning, budgeting, and performance management within a supply chain or category finance environment.
- Proven track record in business partnering and influencing senior stakeholders.
- Experience in leading high-performing teams and driving financial transformation.
