To support this mission, we are seeking a Counselor for our Middle School division. This professional will be responsible for ensuring students' socioemotional well-being and implementing practices that promote emotional and behavioral development. They will work collaboratively with students, families, and educators to provide proactive support, develop growth plans, and address issues related to child protection and overall well-being.

Responsabilidades e atribuições
Focus on Well-Being:
- Prioritize the overall well-being of students, addressing any concerns or challenges that may arise.
- Take responsibility for the social component of students' growth plans, identifying and mapping those in need of additional socioemotional support.
Collaboration with Families:
- Schedule and conduct meetings with families to discuss students' socioemotional development and support strategies.
- Hold follow-up meetings to monitor progress and continue support until the case is resolved or "closed."
Integration of New Students:
- Actively participate in the onboarding process for new students, ensuring a smooth transition into the school environment.
Behavioral Trend Analysis:
- Analyze behavioral trend data to identify patterns associated with different grade levels.
- Validate and share findings with educators and division leaders to ensure a unified approach to addressing these trends.
Development of Proactive Strategies:
- Develop and organize assemblies, parent meetings, and educator workshops to address potential issues before they escalate, based on observational data.
- Map out and implement effective strategies for students requiring additional socioemotional support.
- Observe students in various settings, such as classrooms, playgrounds, and cafeterias, to gather comprehensive data for informed interventions.
Child Protection and Well-Being:
- Address child protection concerns vigilantly and proactively, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for all students.
Focus on Middle School:
- Integrate support mechanisms for Middle School students, including the development of programs such as Pathways within the student schedule.
Requisitos e qualificações
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Pedagogy, or related fields.
- Postgraduate degree in Educational Psychology or Counseling is desirable.
Language:
- English proficiency at B2 level or higher.
Skills:
- Strong listening and communication skills.
- Empathy and conflict resolution abilities.
- Behavioral analysis skills and strong organizational capacity.
Knowledge:
- Familiarity with principles of socioemotional development.
- Experience with intervention strategies for behavior management and child well-being.
- Expertise in school counseling practices and student guidance.
Complexity:
- Dynamic Environment: Ability to work in a school setting where students' emotional and behavioral challenges require quick and effective responses.
- Multitasking: Manage multiple counseling cases simultaneously, ensuring adequate support for students, families, and educators.
- Problem Solving: Assess and address emotional or behavioral crises calmly and effectively.
Experience:
- Previous experience in school counseling, educational psychology, or socioemotional guidance.
Communication:
- Clarity in Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with students, families, and educators, ensuring that support strategies are understood by all parties.
- Collaboration: Work as a team with educators and school leadership to promote students' socioemotional well-being and development.
