Alcoa is seeking a Junior Waste Management Manager to join our team at the Juruti – PA unit, responsible for leading teams in planning, coordinating, and supervising solid waste management programs, focusing on key concepts such as operational excellence, compliance, and sustainability.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate the collection and disposal of operational waste (solid and industrial waste from the plant, except bauxite waste); monitor compliance with current federal regulations; identify opportunities for waste reduction, recycling, and reuse; coordinate data collection and reporting for factory management, through measured items in the monitoring process and specific consolidation systems; act as a bridge between field teams and senior management in implementing operational and logistical strategies.
  • Conduct field inspections to verify compliance and adequacy of controls such as waste accommodation, retention structures, sources of generation, etc.; manage and develop people (contract, expectations, check-ins, and performance evaluations); oversee expenditures, budget management, and contract management estimated at R$ 7 million/year.
  • Lead critical analysis meetings to define strategic plans, goals, and monitor indicators (waste disposed of vs. waste generated - construction waste - hazardous waste - organic waste sent to landfill - hazardous waste reused or recycled, etc.);
  • Monitor compliance with legal requirements using tools provided by Alcoa (Âmbito and Sphera);
  • Actively participate in incident investigations to identify root causes and define actions to prevent recurrence;
  • Ensure health, safety, and environmental controls for the activities under the area’s responsibility and for employees.

What you can offer:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Forestry, Sanitation, Biology, Geology, or Environmental Sciences;
  • Postgraduate degree in Environmental Management (considered a differential);
  • People management skills, management tools (A3, SWOT, Bow tie, LAIA, ISO);
  • Experience in mining will be considered a differential and having experience in logistics chain;
  • Valid driver's license category B (more than 2 years – cannot be a provisional license);
  • Office Suite; Power BI;
  • Good interpersonal relationships and active listening; focus and attention to task execution; high sense of organization, discipline, and prioritization;
  • Availability to reside in Juruti-PA (remote area);
  • Work regime: in-person.
