Job Duties and Qualifications

We seek a talented Computer Scientist or Computer Engineer with professional experience in the software development industry. A M.Sc. in Computer Science or Engineering is a plus. The ideal candidate for this position is an expert in front-end and back-end development and web application software architecture. Excellent problem-solving ability and good oral and written communication skills in both English and Portuguese are required.

What you must have:

• Expert knowledge of Javascript for both client and server-side programming (e.g., NodeJS)
• Expert knowledge of typical languages and frameworks for frontend development (HTML, CSS, JS)
• Expert knowledge of modern web development architectural concepts (e.g., Single-Page Applications, MVC, Event-Driven Architectures)
• Good knowledge of DevOps technologies such as containers, Docker, Kubernetes, Cloud Computing, etc.
• Good knowledge of Microservices architectural concepts and implementation
• Good knowledge of modern frontend framework libraries such as ReactJS, Angular, and/or VUE
• Good knowledge of Python for backend and middleware development
• Good knowledge of SQL and NoSQL database modelling and implementation
• Ability to work in both Windows and Linux environments

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

What is nice to have:

• Experience with other programming languages relevant to the scientific domain such as C/C++
• Experience with Desktop and Web 2D/3D visualization libraries such as OpenGL, VTK, VTKJS
• Knowledge of scientific computing (e.g., linear and nonlinear solvers, numerical methods, etc.)
• Familiarity with CMake, Makefiles, and other tools for multi-platform code compilation
