About the role

  • Our Engineering team, composed of 15 people, is integrated into the worldwide Engineering department and focuses on Capex Investments in collaboration with the GBUs (Global Business Units).
  • As an Electrical Projects Specialist, you will work on the electrical engineering of capex projects and support the plant for Electrical topics. You will get the opportunity to contribute to the development of our investments and have a positive impact on the reliability and safety of our electrical installations.
  • You will be accountable for:
    • Deliver Electrical Engineering at FEL 1,2,3 for multidisciplinary projects (or specific projects for electrical installations) with an outsourced team of designers and engineers.
    • Provide cost estimations of electrical scope for projects.
    • Ensure that the electrical scope of the projects is in line with the needs and safety standards.
    • Manage projects with essential electrical scope like substations modifications or lightning protections installations.
    • Interface with the other Engineering disciplines of multidisciplinary projects.
    • Interface with the Maintenance team to ensure reliability performance of the projects.
    • Design & validate new or existing grids (long term & project approach) in collaboration with corporate and plant electrical specialists.
    • Provide up-to-date standards, specifications, procedures, and guidelines.
    • Ensure technical expertise into Capex procurement activities.
    • Participate in erection, supervision, commissioning & start-up activities with regular field safety inspections.
    • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to operational teams of the sites when requested.
    • Prospect new products and technologies.
    • Participate in the Solvay electrical community and promote best practices.
    • Support and audit Sites of the Latam Region regarding electrical safety and compliance with local norms (NR10,…).
    • Support the Plant in setting up the Director Plans of their electrical network.
  • We offer a permanent contract based on hybrid working mode.

About you

  • Relevant education degree or equivalent in Electrical engineering (preferably Master’s degree).
  • 10 years of experience in engineering on industrial electrical network(s) and installations.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Knowledge of electrical Brazilian norms and international norms (IEC, US standards).
  • Electrical networks protections calculations.
  • Specialization in power systems is a plus.
  • Experience in maintenance & operation on industrial electrical networks is a plus.

About the pay and benefits

  • Attractive and equitable pay for all: compensation is determined within a range to foster your development in the role. While the Brazil base pay reasonably expected for this role is 196,000 BRL to 245,000 BRL, your salary may ultimately be higher or lower based on your skills and experience. Additionally, we provide a competitive total rewards package that includes a bonus and/or other incentives.
