Specialist Cloud Systems Engineer

In this role, you will design and deliver innovative solutions that enhance communication, collaboration, and governance practices across the organization. The ideal candidate is passionate about modern application development, security, and infrastructure. They should have experience working with multiple cloud providers, and are excited to leverage AI technologies to drive efficiency and innovation.

How you'll make an impact

1. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement solutions that improve communication, collaboration, and governance practices.
2. Develop and manage Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions to automate provisioning and ensure consistency across environments.
3. Design cloud-native solutions using AWS and Azure, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
4. Build CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions to enable modern DevOps practices and accelerate software delivery.
5. Identify opportunities to integrate AI/ML solutions into architectural designs to enhance workflows and processes.
6. Contribute to the development of modern applications and infrastructure, following industry best practices for coding and design.
7. Analyze existing systems and recommend architectural improvements to increase efficiency and reduce technical debt.
8. Collaborate with engineering teams with calm, clear and effective communication to ensure alignment with architecture standards and governance practices.
9. Create solutions that are easily adopted by other teams through clear design and effective documentation.

Experience you'll bring

1. Experience as a Software Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, or related role.
2. Hands-on experience with AWS and Azure cloud providers, including cloud infrastructure, storage, and compute services.
3. Proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
4. Experience building CI/CD pipelines and automation workflows using GitHub Actions.
5. Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and how they can be applied to improve processes and workflows.
6. Strong understanding of modern application development practices, including microservices, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and APIs.
7. Proficiency with modern programming languages such as Python, C#, Java, or similar.
8. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with an ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
9. Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Experience integrating AI/ML models into cloud-native solutions.
2. Familiarity with cloud governance frameworks and best practices.
3. Understanding of security principles for cloud infrastructure and applications.
4. Experience with monitoring and observability tools like Splunk or Datadog.
5. Certification(s) in AWS, Azure, or other relevant areas (e.g., Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer).
