Job Description
JOB SUMMARY: This position will support International Medical Corps emergency response delivering outpatient clinical care to disaster-affected populations.
MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Emergency Medical Team Responsibilities: Support the implementation of logistics procedures and policies during preparedness phase and emergency response.
- Management: Responsible for the overall success of logistics, procurement, and IT operations in support of emergency medical response.
- Procurement: Organize reliable and cost-effective local procurement services and coordinate international re-supply pipelines.
- Supplies and Equipment Management: Track all equipment and supplies related to Emergency Medical Response.
- Power Supply: Establish a reliable power supply to the base-camp.
- Communication and IT: Establish reliable communication systems and IT infrastructure.
- Fleet and Transport Management: Manage transportation services for IMC personnel and goods.
- Staff Capacity Building and Performance Management: Recruit and manage local staff capacity.
- Internal and External Coordination: Engage with relevant stakeholders on logistics matters.
- Procedures, Filing and Reporting: Implement IMC Logistics and Supply Chain policies.
- Compliance, Ethics and Best Practices: Ensure compliance with procurement and asset management standards.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of relevant experience in Logistics Supply Chain.
- At least four field deployments, including three humanitarian emergency deployments.
- Experience managing logistics in emergency settings.
- Understanding of International Medical Corps logistics management practices preferred.
- Experience with donor specific procedures.
- Experience with logistics software solutions is desirable.
- Experience managing budgets and preparing reports.
Additional Technical or Language Requirements
Candidates can expect to be living and working in austere conditions. Lifting moderately heavy objects, carrying a backpack, and hiking may be necessary.
