Data Product Manager
The Data Product Manager of the Bees Personalization team is responsible for designing and developing all data products within their squad.
This position's mission is to organize, prioritize, and execute the activities in the backlog, aligned with stakeholder needs, while always maintaining a critical and proactive perspective. The role involves measuring the value generated by each activity and the development effort, conducting product impact analyses, and using them to solve problems.
The Data Product Manager is responsible for leading all squad ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, planning, retrospectives, reviews, and refinements (both technical and product-related), as well as organizing the sprint agendas.
The role also requires documentation of all features and product descriptions, explaining models in an intermediate language between academic and corporate documentation, so they are easily interpretable by the technical team (scientists and engineers) and business stakeholders. Knowledge of agile methodologies and CRISP-DM, along with management tools like Confluence and DevOps, is crucial for this role.
This position requires deep business knowledge, as well as a technical background that allows programming skills in key languages like SQL, PySpark, and Python. Additionally, knowledge of data science fundamentals is required, including the ability to code main models and algorithms, interpret and critique results, and propose the best modeling approaches in collaboration with data scientists.
Data engineering knowledge is essential to contribute to discussions with data engineers and a basic understanding of BI modeling. The squad has a global scope, covering all major BEES business units and partner industries. Each squad will consist of 11 to 17 members, with the product manager as the team leader. Strong soft skills such as clear communication, didactics, leadership (both vertical and horizontal), flexibility, teamwork, and experience working with multiple stakeholders are key for success.
