GET TO KNOW OUR AREA:
The Seed Movement Analyst is envisioned to be a key role within the Global Breeding department, dedicated to enhancing the efficiency and compliance of the export/import processes for materials. This role is designed for a proactive individual adept at navigating the complexities of regulatory landscapes, managing and optimizing intricate logistics and shipping processes, and fostering effective communication across various internal and external stakeholders. A major focus of this role is on creation, validation, and implementation of data tools to facilitate and highlight all aspects of material movement. This analyst also aims to optimize and streamline the export/import workflows, reduce operational costs, implement robust quality control measures, and drive continuous improvements to enhance Bayer’s standards of product delivery.
YOUR MISSION WILL BE TO:
- Process Optimization: Conduct analyses of current export/import procedures to identify improvement opportunities, and implement strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and shorten delivery timelines.
- Data Management and Reporting: Leverage existing data tools and systems to build and validate tools/reports to accurately track shipments, highlight performance metrics, areas for process improvement, and at-risk shipment escalation.
- Quality Control: Oversee package handling procedures to minimize damage during shipping, ensuring all shipments meet established quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Courier Relationship Management: Establish and maintain effective communication channels with courier services like FedEx, prioritize shipments, and monitor courier performance to ensure adherence to service level agreements.
- Communication and Coordination: Facilitate seamless communication between internal teams (Breeding, R&D, Biotech, Supply Chain) and external partners (government agencies, FedEx, 3rd-party labs) to ensure smooth operation of the export/import process.
- Training and Development: Organize and provide training sessions for team members on new processes and tools to ensure high levels of proficiency and adaptability within the team.
- Ability to understand workflows.
- Seed movement logistics from site to site.
- IT ticket submission and tracking.
- Basic troubleshooting of IT software.
- Data analysis and transformation.
- Identifying and correcting data quality issues.
- Process focused communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage multiple tasks with conflicting long and short-term deadlines and clearly communicate project status and prioritize those tasks effectively.
ARE YOU READY FOR THE POSITION?
Required:
- Fluent in Portuguese and Intermediate English level for conversation; proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
- Studying or completed bachelor's degree in Data Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Information Technology, or related field.
- Experience in Data Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Information Technology, or a related role.
- Good knowledge of data warehousing concepts and demonstrated experience creating and leveraging IT tools.
- Understanding of Regulatory requirements for the export/import of agricultural products.
- Experience with logistics and supply chain management software.
- Demonstrate strong competency in using pivot tables, macros, and other data analysis tools to analyze large data sets.
- Ideal candidates are proficient with SQL and utilizing visualization software (Spotfire, Tableau, PowerBI, etc.); API consumption/development experience.
- Candidates should be detail-oriented with the ability to recognize how today’s work impacts downstream planning.
- Ability to communicate complex ideas in a clear, precise and actionable manner. Problem solving ability and experience in analyzing and presenting complex data.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Proactive and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Self-starter and able to work as part of a team.
- Strong business aptitude, the ability to rapidly learn new problem domains, and become conversant in the domain with subject matter experts.
- Ability to actively engage with internal partners and external collaborators to align strategies and success measures in analytics. Commitment to ensuring data quality and accuracy.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills with the focus of connecting individuals to resolve issues; ability to work independently and seek help as needed.
- Fosters a sense of urgency, identifies, and overcomes obstacles.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Willingness to extend own data science and statistical interests to agriculture and/or experience working with agricultural/biological scientific data.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on process improvement.
- Knowledge of breeding, agriculture, and/or biotechnology processes to include field testing procedures.
- Experience with Pipeline pilot and/or other data query tools.
- Experience with (a) programming language(s) (Java, JavaScript, Python, C#, etc.) and coding relevant to retrieving and joining data.
