Summary:
This position will reside in an OIA APAC core packaging development office. Core department deliverables include graphic processing, print & mockup execution, and quality assurance especially for Asia sourced packaging. Including press checks, graphic design, prepress graphic quality assurance and physical sample review.Current packaging specialties include outdoor and recreational packaging, POP displays and footwear packaging.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Duties and Responsibilities:include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Process, QA and prepress graphic files from external stakeholders and graphic designers.
- Review client created graphics against the appropriate print and production method.
- Recommend adjustments to files to meet client’s goal while adhering to the supply chain’s manufacturing tolerances.
- Collaborate with accounts development and project management staff in development of packaging solutions.
- Adapt key design elements to scale to various proportions while maintaining overall design consistency.
- Own and execute the color management and quality tools and software such as X-right, a spectrophotometer, Adobe Illustrator, and additional graphic management platforms.
- Own and execute the Epson printer plotter in studio. Performing printing and mockup tasks in studio along with managing the stock and inventory needed to run the printer.
- Receive and coordinate development samples in the studio.
- Document and create SOPs for any new tasks.
- Ability to organize and receive physical samples to support Design Studio.
- Keep management apprised of all new developments and situations.
- Attend meetings and perform other duties as required by management.
- Understand or be familiar with paper-based packaging such as corrugated board, carton board and rigid setup.
