Job Description
The Business Development Principal role is a crucial position in the Strategic Partnerships team. As an experienced business developer, you will be instrumental in opening new markets, connecting Rentcars to new high profile leads and spearheading complex and relevant negotiations. You will also help to shape and implement the international expansion strategy and support the team’s evolution through technical leadership, example and feedback.
In this position you will be responsible for:
- Support the execution of the Strategic Partnerships’ internationalization strategy, contributing towards geographical revenue diversification;
- Bring high-volume, unmapped, leads into the company's Strategic Partnerships pipeline, including leads from industries other than tourism;
- Substantially increase the amount of high performing international partnerships established by the company, helping the area to achieve its goals;
- Develop a solid relationship with the partners assigned to you, regularly reviewing and optimizing each account, making sure both the partner and Rentcars are extracting maximum value from the established partnership;
- Help to guide the company towards a more competitive product by generating and prioritizing product development demands with the tech, product, finance and CS teams, leveraging on past experiences and industry benchmark;
- Lead and act as reference to the international account managers team, sharing strategic and practical knowledge with them by, for example, participating in negotiation calls, providing feedback on their performance and on their deliverables to partners, among other practical coaching activities.
What we expect from you (experience, soft and hard skills):
- Significant experience in business development, account management, partnerships or similar areas;
- Proven track record in meeting & exceeding targets;
- Ability to lead and project-manage across multiple functional areas and stakeholders;
- Self-starter who proactively seeks ways to improve and drive business to next level;
- Flexibility to travel domestic or international;
- Fluent English or Spanish;
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills;
- Organized and proactive profile;
- Ability to deliver persuasive presentations on a tech product / service to different audiences (Marketing, Tech, CX, etc) and summarize its key selling points;
- Knowledge on the main operational and financial business KPIs and the ability to understand and articulate them in order to make well informed decisions;
- Experience with the Google suite: mail, docs, sheets and slides.
What can make a difference:
- Fluency in other languages, such French, German and others;
- Knowledge on the tourism industry and its main characteristics;
- Knowledge on digital businesses and its main KPIs;
- Experience negotiating and managing revenue share based partnerships;
- Experience operating affiliate programs, such as Awin, Tradetracker and Rakuten;
- Experience reviewing partnerships contracts and knowledge on its main points.
