Business Development Analyst

Main purpose of position
Currently we are looking for a Business Developer Analyst in São Paulo, Brazil to be part of our global team working together towards our vision – Improving our future. As our Business Developer Analyst, you have strong communication skills and ability to build networks and relationships. You will be responsible for originating and nurturing relationships with new and existing partners, offtakers and lenders aligned with Scatec’s strategy and working in close collaboration with the project development team. This includes securing and developing new business opportunities from origination through structuring and financial close. The position will be an important part of leading the effort to strengthen Scatec as a leading player.

Main responsibilities

• Originate and nurture relationships with new and existing partners, offtakers and lenders.
• Identify, screen, evaluate, structure and manage new business opportunities together with the project development team, including:
  • Lead negotiation with partners and offtakers
  • Structure and optimize business case
  • Perform commercial assessment and due diligence
  • Originate financing and offtake solutions, including analysing financial models and preparing investment memos
  • Perform risk assessments related to the new and existing business opportunities, including project, financial and offtake risks and corresponding mitigation strategies
• Support in developing commercial strategies for renewable energy, taking risk and return considerations into account.
• Develop equity and project finance solutions with the project finance team and participate in securing financing for the projects and bring the project to financial close.
• Develop offtake solutions with the Energy Portfolio Management team and participate in securing offtake.
• Lead multidisciplinary project teams and workstreams across the business cycle, through internal and external activities to the common goal of establishing Scatec as a leading player in Brazil.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English and Portuguese; Spanish is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Law or other relevant fields; MBA or Master’s Degree in the above-mentioned fields is an advantage.
• Knowledge in the renewable energy market, either from a renewable energy investor, financial institution or other companies related to the energy market.
• Relevant working experience and understanding of developing business opportunities for renewable energy projects, partnership and/or offtake arrangements.
