About the role

As Business Controller, you will provide leadership to the local finance team and support on all financial matters to the SCPA Service Line Managers in Latin America. You will represent the finance function and provide direction and play a key part in driving the success of the business in accordance with the DNV global and Business Area strategy, Annual Operating Plan, and in compliance with the Company management system and other financial processes/procedures.

You will work with the SCPA managers and employees as well as a broad network of key personnel within the finance area to provide an efficient, effective, complete and timely financial reporting service for all stakeholders. Providing comprehensive financial support to the commercial bidding processes and ensuring that reporting structures and finance processes are efficiently maintained in line with Business needs is another important part of the responsibilities.
  1. As a key member of the SCPA Region Americas Finance Leadership team with responsibility for the finance and controlling functions in Latin America, you are expected to play an active role in supporting the service lines achieving their financial KPIs.
  2. Support implementation of Business Area strategic and operational plans.
  3. Develop and motivate the finance team through regular feedback and completion of annual performance appraisals.
  4. Provide financial & commercial support to Service Line Managers and Project Managers, including coaching as required.
  5. Ensure operational follow up on project financials (pre and post calculation) and management of cashflow (Accounts Receivable and Work in Progress).
  6. Develop and assist Management in understanding performance against budget & forecast and support the implementation and effective use of tools and processes related to forecasting, planning and budgeting.
  7. Interface with Global Shared Services (GSS) teams and other finance functions in the geographical area and in the SCPA region.
  8. Develop and maintain operating procedures and related work processes.
  9. Ensure compliance with legislative and corporate requirements.
  10. Create, build and maintain successful relationships throughout the line.

About you

Qualifications
  1. Bachelor degree in Economics, Engineering, Finance, Business Administration or related
  2. MBA / Master Degree desirable
  3. Substantial, relevant and varied experience in controllership and financial management, preferably at country or regional level in:
  4. Production of management accounts and KPI's/management information
  5. Production of statutory accounts
  6. Balance sheet responsibility & control
  7. Experience of working for a multi-national business desirable.
  8. Strong knowledge/experience of Oracle, Excel and PowerBI
  9. A broad business appreciation and willingness to become involved in aspects of the business beyond financial management.
  10. Experience in managing and supervising teams and driving team performance
  11. Ability to influence and negotiate with staff at all levels.
  12. Excellent analytical skills, target and performance driven.
  13. Fluent in English (mandatory)
  14. Portuguese and/or Spanish is a plus

Local conditions apply. The position might require few local business travels within Latin America.
