Rystad Energy is seeking an ambitious and motivated candidate with a strong academic record of accomplishment, an analytical mindset, good communication skills, and interest in power markets, renewables technologies, and energy transition.

The Bioenergy Team is part of the analysis department in Rystad Energy and is responsible for maintaining and developing our database and products within the sector. The work done by the Bioenergy Team is key for our company’s ambition to become a reference in market advisory solutions for energy transition.

As an intern, your role will consist of researching the major bioenergy markets to support the development of our global and regional products. You will be joining a lean and collaborative team, in a very dynamic environment, interacting with analysts from different teams across the world and with local and global clients. Our regional team is growing fast and presents great career opportunities by the end of the internship program.

Key Responsibilities

1. Research and track the major bioenergy markets, including regulation framework and pricing mechanisms.
2. Support development and management of the regional biogas/biofuels databases in Excel and SQL.
3. Support the development and management of dashboards in Power BI.
4. Support the cost modeling of biofuels and related feedstocks.
5. Support the development of customized analysis and market reports.
6. Support the development of presentations for client meetings and webinars.

Requirements

1. Undergraduate student in engineering, economics, management, agronomy, or any related field.
2. Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing in English.
3. Proficient in Excel (basic formulas, pivot tables, ability to structure large spreadsheets efficiently) and PowerPoint.
4. Basic programming skills.
5. Solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
6. Team player, fast learner, and interested in energy-related topics.
7. The ability to speak in Spanish, as well as previous experience with some data science tools and/or with biofuels or biogas are desirable.
