What You'll Do (Responsibilities):
Support the Audit Director in the in ensuring the development and execution of a comprehensive program of audit work. This includes leading the development of an annual risk assessment and audit plan.
Support the Lead Auditor in the planning and scoping individual audits
Ensure audit projects address GM and GMAS key strategic and business objectives based on understanding of appropriate business aspects, risks, potential fraud, performance requirements and control processes and systems of auditable activities
Review and approve workpapers for accuracy, adequate testing coverage, and appropriate documentation
Oversee development of and review the audit report. Reviews audit issues ensuring that the root cause is accurately identified and that management action plans are developed that address the root cause
Manage and provide hands on support to the lead, senior, and staff auditors throughout the audit
Communicate and report audit results with business units and VPs, where applicable
Serve as primary contact for local auditee management during and after the audit
Ensure the audit management system (Star) is updated accurately and timely (including actual and budgeted project hours, dates, action plan status, findings documents)
Review and approve team's spending
Monitor, forecast annual team budget, and report to PPG
Track open Issues/Management Action Plan as due date approaching
Drives the development of an effective Continuous Business Monitoring and Risk Assessment Process
Support Audit Director's meetings with stakeholders
Talent management(timely and ongoing feedback, actively involved in team development and coaching, effectively communicates formal ongoing coaching, in addition to firmal mid-year and year-end evaluations, etc.)
Participates in ongoing professional development
Develop a good understanding of GM operations worldwide
Builds strong relationships to interface with the business and service lines
Serve as a brand ambassador for ‘One GMAS’

SKILLS/ABILITIES:
High level of integrity and judgment
Excellent oral and written communication skills (English and Portuguese), high level of confidence in interacting with Senior Management
Demonstrates strong leadership ability and managerial courage
Ability to comfortably challenge the status quo and bring an innovative mindset
Excellent project and time management skills, including ability to manage more than one audit or project simultaneously.
Ability to identify and use data in strategic decision making and risk determinations
Ability to identify opportunities for better risk coverage based on new/emerging data sources
Able to communicate complex issues clearly and succinctly to technical and non-technical stakeholders to facilitate understanding and informed decision making.
