About the Role

The Safety Ops team at Uber is dedicated to creating a bespoken safety strategy and embedding it into every aspect of the platform. With a strong focus on improving safety while balancing business priorities, the team tackles impactful projects, ensuring accountability for users, and launching initiatives that enhance both safety and the overall perception. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join the Brazil and South Cone Safety Ops team, leveraging data to answer critical business questions, solve challenges, and optimize processes.


What you'll do:

As an Analytical Operations & Logistics Manager on the Safety team, you will play a key role in shaping and executing the safety strategy for Brazil and the South Cone. Leveraging your analytical expertise, you will uncover and address key challenges, validate hypotheses, and size opportunities to drive safety improvements. Collaborating with team members and data stakeholders, you will ensure a data-driven approach to decision-making and strategy execution. This role requires a combination of strong analytical skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to translate data insights into meaningful action. Your work will directly contribute to improving platform safety.


  1. Gather insights from local and cross-functional stakeholders, conducting in-depth analyses to identify key challenges, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  2. Perform deep dives into existing safety data and controls, identifying ways to enhance their usage and impact on safety initiatives.
  3. Effectively communicate findings and insights to stakeholders across technical and non-technical backgrounds, ensuring clarity and alignment.
  4. Support the delivery of complex projects by sizing challenges, validating hypotheses, and providing analytical input to guide decision-making and execution.
  5. Collaborate closely with other teams to ensure seamless implementation of safety strategies, balancing local needs with global objectives.

Basic Qualifications

  1. A minimum of 3 years of experience in analytical, strategic, and fast-paced environments, such as consulting, technology, startups, operations, project management, or banking.
  2. Fluency in Portuguese and English, with the ability to engage in strategic business discussions in both languages.
  3. Proven expertise in making data-driven strategic decisions, with a strong ability to analyze and interpret data while maintaining a big-picture perspective. Proficiency in Excel and SQL is required.
  4. Skilled in navigating databases to gather relevant data, conducting thorough analysis on feature performance, and monitoring efficiency metrics while proactively reporting anomalies.
  5. Basic project management skills, including the ability to support planning and data-related deliverables to help drive team success.
  6. Proficiency in Python, R or other programming languages.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Experience using Tableau or other data visualization tools.
  2. Previous experience in safety-related roles and/or within the industry is highly valued.
  3. Proficiency in Spanish is considered a strong advantage.
