Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Abu Dhabi, UAE

Parsons is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our dynamic team in Abu Dhabi. In this role, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of major building projects, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and sustainability.

What You'll Be Doing:

1. Design Excellence: Carry out complete Mechanical, Plumbing & Firefighting discipline designs to required standards and quality.
2. Collaboration: Coordinate with other Discipline Engineers and CAD Technicians to meet project requirements and timelines.
3. Compliance: Ensure statutory and regulatory requirements are met in all designs.
4. Support: Facilitate project submittals and No Objection Certificates (NOC) process to relevant Authorities.
5. Innovation: Stay updated with relevant technical developments within the discipline.
6. Project Management: Understand the contract and scope of project deliverables.
7. Safety: Embed Health & Safety into all work practices in line with company policies.
8. Communication: Provide regular work status updates, including risks or concerns, to Seniors or MEP manager.
9. Team Contribution: Attend and contribute in team and project meetings as required.
10. Strategy: Contribute to the delivery of the Building Division strategy, including supporting the company's approach to sustainability.
11. Quality Assurance: Ensure QMS and Project Life cycle compliance across team and projects.
12. Time Management: Complete accurate time sheets by set deadline.
13. Business Development: Provide feedback on all business development opportunities.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
2. Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in the design of major building projects.
3. Expertise: Extensive experience in design development and production of buildings.
4. Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in relevant software including AutoCAD, BIM/Revit, HAP, HEVACOP, IES, HASS, etc.
5. Industry Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations.
6. Communication: Excellent written and oral communication skills.
