Job Description: Structural Fabrication Foreman

Position Summary:
The Structural Fabrication Foreman is responsible for supervising and managing the fabrication of structural steel components for construction projects. This role involves ensuring that all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications and quality standards. The foreman leads a team of fabricators and welders, coordinates workflow, and ensures adherence to production schedules.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Supervision and Team Management:
   Oversee a team of fabricators, welders, and helpers during the fabrication process.
   Assign tasks and ensure efficient workforce utilization.
   Train and mentor team members to improve skills and ensure quality output.
2. Project Planning and Execution:
   Review project blueprints, drawings, and specifications to plan and organize fabrication work.
   Coordinate with project managers and engineers to ensure timely completion of tasks.
   Manage production schedules and ensure deadlines are met.
3. Quality Control:
   Inspect work for compliance with design specifications and quality standards.
   Ensure proper welding, cutting, and assembly techniques are used.
   Identify and address fabrication issues promptly.
4. Safety and Compliance:
   Enforce safety protocols and procedures on the shop floor.
   Ensure team members wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
   Conduct regular safety inspections to maintain a hazard-free environment.
5. Material and Equipment Management:
   Monitor inventory levels and coordinate the procurement of materials as needed.
   Ensure tools and equipment are in good working condition.
   Report maintenance or repair requirements promptly.
6. Documentation and Reporting:
   Maintain records of work progress, material usage, and team performance.
   Submit regular updates and reports to management.
   Ensure proper documentation of any modifications or changes in design.
7. Work is typically performed in a workshop or fabrication yard.
   May require occasional site visits to oversee installation or resolve issues.
   Physical fitness is necessary due to the nature of the work.

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualifications and Skills:

1. Proven experience as a Structural Fabrication Foreman or in a similar supervisory role.
2. Strong knowledge of structural steel fabrication processes, techniques, and tools.
3. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and project specifications.
4. Strong leadership and team management skills.
5. Familiarity with safety regulations and industry standards.
6. Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Certification in welding, fabrication, or related fields.
2. Experience with CNC machinery or automated fabrication systems.
3. Familiarity with structural engineering concepts.
4. Proficiency in using MS Office or fabrication management software.
