Quality Inspector

We are recruiting for a prismatic machining & mechanical assembly business for the Civil & Military Aerospace Industry. Our client specializes in high-speed 5 axis soft & hard metal plus composite machining up to 3 meters in length. We are looking for a full-time permanent Quality Inspector to be based in Hyde.

Key skills required:

1. The ideal Quality Inspector must have over 3 years working experience in inspection.
2. College Level 3 Certificate or equivalent in mechanical engineering or machining.
3. Must have experience of using various measuring devices including micrometers, calipers, height gauges etc. to qualify manufactured and purchased parts to both internal and external specifications.
4. The ability to set-up and use a CMM is a definite advantage.
5. Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings, work orders, engineering specifications, and route cards.
6. Must have a good understanding and application of geometric dimensions, fits and tolerances.
7. Problem-solving skills, particularly concerning the repair of worn parts where there is evidence of distortion, wear, ambiguous instructions or lack of clear information.
8. Effective communication skills, especially record keeping.
9. Must be able to get along with others, function as a team player and, when necessary, accept constructive criticism.

Hours of work: Monday to Thursday 7.45am - 5pm and Friday 7.45am - 10.45am - shift system.
