Legal Secretary – Residential Property Team

Our client, a well-established regional law firm in Richmond, is seeking a dedicated Legal Secretary to join their Residential Property team. This is a permanent, full-time position, though the firm is happy to consider candidates seeking to work four days per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide secretarial and administrative support to a busy team of conveyancers and solicitors within the Residential Property department.
- Assist with the preparation and management of property documentation, including contracts, transfers, and Land Registry applications.
- Ensure the smooth processing of residential property transactions, including registering property with the Land Registry, ordering searches, and preparing completion statements.
- Dictation typing and managing correspondence, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Maintain client files and records in compliance with legal procedures and the firm’s policies.
- Handle client enquiries and provide excellent client service over the phone and via email.
- Organise meetings, appointments, and assist with diary management.
- Ensure deadlines are met and provide efficient administrative support to the wider team.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Legal Secretary within residential property and conveyancing (essential).
- Familiarity with residential property transactions, including Land Registry procedures and property documentation.
- Strong dictation and typing skills.
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage a busy workload and meet tight deadlines.
- Professional telephone manner and excellent communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Office, case management systems, and other relevant legal software.
- A proactive and adaptable approach to work in a fast-paced environment.
- A positive attitude and a desire to work as part of a team.
