Tradewind Recruitment is working in partnership with secondary schools in the Wellingborough area who are seeking a reliable and practical Design & Technology (DT) Technician to support their DT departments.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong practical skills and an interest in education to play a key role in supporting teaching and learning in a busy DT setting.
- Preparing materials, equipment, and resources for DT lessons
- Supporting teachers during practical lessons when required
- Maintaining tools, machinery, and equipment in line with health and safety regulations
- Managing stock levels, ordering supplies, and organising resources
- Ensuring workshops and classrooms are safe, clean, and well organised
- Supporting students with the safe use of equipment when appropriate
- Has experience working in a DT environment (school-based or industry experience welcomed)
- Has good practical skills (e.g. wood, metal, textiles, electronics, or resistant materials)
- Has a strong understanding of health and safety procedures
- Is organised, proactive, and able to work independently
- Has good communication skills and a team-focused approach
- Holds (or is willing to obtain) an enhanced DBS on the update service
