A new clinical service blueprint across Lancashire and South Cumbria has been developed that we now need to make a reality, we are working with place partners to implement innovative neighbourhood programmes to address health inequalities and are now implementing a new operating model across the Trust.

Direction of the medical staff at University Hospitals Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust (UHMB) to ensure the safe delivery of excellent patient care.
The Chief Medical Officer will play an active role in the determination and implementation of clinical, corporate and improvement strategies and plans to achieve clinical transformation and financial sustainability across the Bay and the Lancashire and South Cumbria integrated care system.
The Chief Medical Officer is a full voting member of the Board of Directors and is expected to play a significant role in the corporate affairs of the organisation as an Executive Director and member of the Unitary Board.
The Chief Medical Officer will take responsibility, with other executive directors for the safety and quality of care provided to patients, leadership of the workforce, the strategic direction of the Trust, the delivery of performance and financial sustainability, and relationships with external partners.
We operate from three main hospitals: Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.
WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, daycase and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
