Senior Property and Casualty Underwriter
London
£80,000 – £90,000

Barker Munro recruitment is assisting in recruitment for a Global Insurance organisation for a Senior Underwriter, joining the growing Property and Casualty team.

This role will play a key part in the continued development of their offering to clients, including driving and building key relationships across their market as they look to satisfy clients’ needs and grow the account. It will also require strong collaboration across the business to create opportunities across the mid to large corporate space, including multinational aspects.

The role requires strong technical underwriting knowledge in the Property and/or Casualty lines of business, as you will be responsible for underwriting key accounts, driving intelligent new business growth, and acting as a senior authority holder within the business.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Acting as a Senior Authority holder focused on winning and retaining business of a large and complex nature.
2. Providing excellent service to our customers.
3. Building and developing successful Broker relationships.
4. Being visible in the local market, thriving on face-to-face contact with brokers and end customers.
5. Developing business relationships with key clients.

Skills Required:

1. Outstanding technical underwriting skills in commercial property and/or casualty writing >£500k business.
2. Proven track record of dealing with large and/or complex risks.
3. Capable of leveraging data and analytics.
4. Strong leadership capabilities.
5. Excellent trading skills and a confident negotiator with proven experience in handling large cases.
6. Strong ability to build, develop, and maintain broker relationships.
7. Achievement-oriented, able to organise own workload to meet tight deadlines with a positive attitude.
8. A good team player, supportive to others with an enthusiastic and positive attitude.
