Senior Process Engineer

Location: Basingstoke, UK

Worker Status: PAYE only

Eni UK offers a SmartWorking policy, allowing personnel to work up to 12 days per month remotely from home or a secure UK location. This flexibility applies even when personnel are on leave for part of the month, allowing for approximately 60% remote work.

Role Overview

A Senior Process Engineer is required to support various projects, assisting the Project Discipline Lead Engineer. The role involves working across different project phases, from feasibility studies to Basic Design and FEED (Front End Engineering Design). Projects will cover onshore and offshore oil and gas production facilities, with a particular focus on LNG and renewable energy production.

Main Responsibilities

• Lead smaller project teams or work independently to deliver assigned scopes of work.
• Conduct debottlenecking studies for existing facilities and coordinate the production of multi-discipline reports.
• Produce and review standard process engineering deliverables, ensuring compliance with company and international standards.
• Oversee contractor activities and review documentation in line with company specifications, including but not limited to P&IDs, datasheets, and Design Basis documents.
• Manage process engineering activities and collaborate with team members across multiple geographical locations.

Candidate Requirements

• Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Chemical Engineering.
• Certification by a professional institute (Chartered Engineer status with the IChemE ).
• Experience working on or monitoring FEED and EPC projects for oil and gas processing facilities.
• Proven experience as a Lead Engineer, providing hands-on technical support to project teams.
• Strong ability to work autonomously and manage assigned tasks effectively.
• Proficiency in HYSYS simulation is advantageous.
• Experience across project phases from feasibility through to Basic Design, FEED, Detailed Design, and Construction.
• Specific expertise in CCUS, LNG, or Offshore technologies is desirable.
