Job description

A key player in the nuclear and defence sector is looking for a senior safety engineer with a specialism in fire safety to join one of the hottest project in the UK.

  • Job Title - Senior nuclear Safety Engineer (Fire)
  • Location - remote (site travel required monthly)
  • Contract Length - 12 Months
  • Pay Rate - Up to £82 hour (Inside IR35)

Experience:

  • Extensive experience in the management and preparation of safety documentation for nuclear installations with a focus on fire safety
  • Familiarity with engineering design and safety practices, including the creation of project specifications and planning with a focus on fire safety
  • Practical experience in supporting the construction, operation, and refit/repair of nuclear submarines or similar specialized facilities (preferred).
  • Experience in managing nuclear fire safety deliverables and services (highly desirable).
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and collaborate effectively with others with the fire safety background
  • Capable of exercising initiative and judgment within defined limits.

Qualifications:

  • A relevant degree in Engineering or Science (e.g., BEng., BSc.) or equivalent qualifications/experience.
  • Chartered membership or working towards chartered status with a recognized professional institute.
  • A recognised industry fire safety course within a heavily regulated sector
  • ACTIVE UK SECURITY CLEARANCE
