Job description

Black Rock Restaurant Group is a hospitality business with a collection of fantastic restaurants in Brighton and London. With a team of over 200, we are passionate about creating exceptional guest experiences, underpinned by a culture of excellence, inclusivity, and fun. We are now looking for a Recruitment Partner & HR Administrator to support our HR function and ensure a seamless employee experience.

This newly defined role presents a genuinely unique opportunity for a motivated and ambitious HR professional with specialist recruitment and general HR administration experience. Reporting to the Senior Management Team, the postholder will shape, develop and operate a recruiting function that will support the business in its objectives and drive talent into all areas of operations. Additionally, the postholder will be responsible for general HR admin functions in collaboration with business unit and support office managers.

There is no ceiling to this role and the postholder will have the real opportunity to expand the role and advance into the senior management team, playing a leading role in the development of the group.

Remuneration: Around £45k plus significant annual performance related bonus.

This Role Has Two Key Functions

Recruitment Partner

You will have primary responsibility for identifying, engaging, and hiring the best talent at all levels for our five restaurants.

HR Administrator

You will be responsible, with administrative support, for the efficient collection, processing and maintenance of HR records, ensuring, in collaboration with business unit and support office managers, that records are maintained and routine HR processes are followed.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment

  • Own and drive the end-to-end recruitment process for all roles across the business;
  • Partner closely with managers and the senior leadership to understand business needs, hiring goals, and workforce planning;
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies to attract the best talent;
  • Utilise data to drive hiring decisions whilst leveraging recruiting metrics, pipeline data, and market insights to refine hiring strategies;
  • Ensure a diverse and inclusive hiring process.

Stakeholder & Candidate Management
  • Provide interview training and support and best-practice guidance to interviewers and selectors;
  • Act as a trusted advisor to candidates throughout the hiring process, ensuring a positive candidate experience;
  • Negotiate offers and ensure seamless onboarding in collaboration with relevant managers.

Sourcing & Market Intelligence
  • Evaluate, introduce and manage advanced sourcing tools and techniques;
  • Conduct market research to understand hiring trends, salary benchmarks, and competitor intelligence;

Process Optimisation & Employer Branding
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance recruitment efficiency and candidate experience;
  • Leverage recruitment technologies controlling and driving down cost per hire;
  • Collaborate with the marketing and branding teams to create compelling job advertisements, social media campaigns, and talent engagement strategies;
  • Contribute to internal hiring initiatives and interview panels;

HR Admin & Compliance
  • Responsible for maintaining and updating employee records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality;
  • Produce contracts, offer letters, and other employment-related documentation;
  • In collaboration with our retained advisers, ensure HR policies and procedures are up to date and compliant with UK employment law;
  • Responsible for ensuring completion of right-to-work checks and onboarding processes in liaison with business unit managers;
  • Ensure new starters are set up on HR and payroll systems;
  • Liaise with the finance team to ensure accurate payroll processing;
  • Co-ordinate appraisal processes in liaison with business unit/support office managers;
  • Manage all aspects of employee offboarding.

Employee Relations & Support
  • Be a point of contact for general HR queries from employees and managers;
  • Liaise and collaborate with external advisers on complex employment challenges;
  • Support in managing employee absences and tracking holiday requests;
  • Assist with employee engagement initiatives to promote a positive workplace culture.

Person Specification

Essential
  • Minimum five years HR experience including at least three years in a recruiting function;
  • Highly developed written and spoken communication skills;
  • Good level of MS Office applications;
  • Experience with talent management software applications;
  • Experience of mainstream advertising channels;
  • Proactive and highly-organised;
  • Excellent time management and multitasking abilities;
  • Highly numerate with analytical skills.

Desirable
  • Degree level education;
  • Experience of recruitment in the hospitality industry;
  • Good relationship builder, able to use influencing skills as required.
