About the role

We are delighted to have the opportunity to recruit to two new academic positions in the Department of Aeronautics. Our department prides itself on hosting and nurturing highly talented academics and we welcome applications from all candidates working at the cutting edge of their fields of choice. For this reason, the level and exact discipline of the post has been left open and the appointments will therefore be made dependent on your experience at the level of Lecturer (Assistant Professor), Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor), Reader (Associate Professor) or Professor.

What you would be doing

1. You will develop a broad range of research in your discipline, leading or contributing to a research area at the highest scientifically rigorous levels.
2. You will apply for research funding and manage the resources (including where relevant a research team) of successful grants.
3. You will teach and examine courses at all levels (undergraduate, MSc and PhD degrees) through lectures, seminars, tutorials, coursework and personal supervision.
4. You will plan and review your own approach to teaching as well as contributing to the development of the department’s curriculum and its teaching and assessment methods.
5. You will be presented with opportunities to contribute to the wider strategic goals of the department, faculty and university through administrative or leadership responsibilities, attending relevant committees or providing representation at internal or external meetings and working groups.
