About The Role

We're seeking a talented JavaScript Engineer to join our dynamic front-end team. While our team primarily focuses on front-end products, we also maintain a Node.js back-end service, offering you valuable full-stack development experience.

As an Engineer at BR-DGE, you'll be an essential part of our development team, collaborating closely with experienced engineers to create clean, maintainable, and efficient code that continuously improves our product offerings. You'll have the opportunity to grow your skills across various technologies while contributing to meaningful projects.

The ideal candidate has experience in front-end development with JavaScript frameworks and brings enthusiasm for learning and growth. This position is perfect for someone early in their engineering career who wants to develop professionally in a supportive, fast-paced fintech environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Designing, implementing, and maintaining front-end components and features for our payment orchestration platform
• Writing high-quality, well-tested, and optimised code as part of an agile sprint team
• Conducting code reviews and providing constructive feedback to other team members
• Collaborating with senior engineers on architectural decisions and technical direction
• Working alongside senior engineers to break down complex problems into simple, maintainable solutions
• Troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues
• Proactively identifying opportunities for technical improvement
• Staying current with front-end development trends and best practices

What We’re Looking For

• 2+ years of professional experience in front-end development with JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5 & CSS
• Familiarity with modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g. React, Next.js, Angular, Vue)
• Proficiency with testing frameworks such as Jest, Mocha & Cypress and writing comprehensive tests
• Solid understanding of responsive design and cross-browser compatibility
• Experience with version control workflows including feature branching and code reviews
• Familiarity with Node.js back-end development
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems independently
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly
• Experience working in an agile development environment
• Self-motivation and ability to manage priorities effectively

What Would Be Great To Have

• Knowledge of performance optimisation techniques for web applications
• Experience with RESTful API design and implementation
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps principles
• Knowledge of the payments industry or fintech domain
• Experience using JIRA and other Atlassian tools
• Previous mentoring experience

Interview Process

• Initial interview with Hiring Manager and a team engineer (60 minutes)
• Technical interview via Zoom with two engineers from the team (60 minutes)
