Job description

SF Recruitment are working with a leading service provider in Birmingham who are looking to recruit a Contracts Manager (IT Procurement) to the team. The role comes at an exciting period of growth for the organisation.

Duties:
  1. To reduce churn, understanding the reasons for losses and leading a cross-functional team to deliver on improvements within reporting, propositions and processes.
  2. To work with suppliers and business intelligence teams to consolidate and use renewal data from suppliers, orchestrating this and presenting it to sales, marketing and proposition colleagues to enable improvements in renewals and retention.
  3. Take full ownership of the contract lifecycle, ensuring accurate execution, monitoring, and renewal of contracts, while proactively identifying risks and opportunities.
  4. Lead commercial negotiations for contract amendments, renewals, and renegotiations, ensuring terms align with business strategy and commercial objectives.
  5. Ensure all contractual obligations are met and identify potential risks, working closely with paralegal, commercial, finance, and operational teams to mitigate exposure.
  6. Track and measure the performance of contracts against KPIs, SLAs, and financial targets, identifying areas for improvement and taking corrective action when necessary.
  7. Act as the primary point of contact for internal teams and external clients on all contract-related matters, ensuring effective communication and resolution of issues.
  8. Maintain a centralised contract library and ensure all contract documentation is accurate and up-to-date, producing regular reports for senior management on contract performance.
  9. Manage and document any contract changes or amendments throughout the lifecycle, ensuring all parties are aligned and that changes are properly reflected in performance metrics.
  10. Lead regular reviews of in-life contracts to assess risk exposure, developing and implementing strategies to mitigate risks related to legal, operational, and financial issues.
  11. Manage contract disputes, working closely with paralegal and commercial teams to find resolutions that protect the company's interests.
  12. Ensure contracts incorporate and comply with sustainability and CSR requirements, reflecting the company's commitment to ethical business practices.
  13. Work closely with the procurement team to manage relationships with key vendors and suppliers, ensuring they meet contractual obligations and perform to agreed-upon standards.
  14. Stay up to date with industry trends and changes in regulations that could impact existing contracts, and recommend strategies to adjust or renegotiate terms where necessary.
  15. Provide training and guidance to internal teams on contract management processes and best practices, ensuring company-wide adherence to legal and commercial standards.
Skillset:
  1. A minimum of five years' experience in commercial contract management, specializing in in-life contract management within the technology or telecommunications industries.
  2. Demonstrated ability to manage complex contracts involving multiple stakeholders.
  3. In-depth knowledge of contract law, commercial terms, risk mitigation, and legal compliance.
  4. Hands-on experience with financial modeling and analysis.
  5. Strong understanding of procurement processes, supply chain management, and supplier relationship management.
