Risk Reporting Analyst - JP Morgan - London - 6 months contract - PAYE - Hybrid
We are seeking a Risk Reporting Analyst to join JP Morgan's Country Risk Reporting Team in London on an initial 6 months contract to help provide reports on exposure and stress metrics to Country Risk Managers and Senior Management. This role would suit experienced candidates as well as finance or accounting grads with some professional exposure and is a great opportunity for someone seeking the possibility of going permanent in the future.
*Please note that this role will initially be working on a hybrid model then moving to fully onsite in the future.*
Job Responsibilities
- As a part of the Country Risk Reporting team, you will be responsible for the collection, aggregation and analysis of data to produce Country Reports.
- You will need to understand data flows, investigate and remediate data issues between upstream source systems and the Country Risk Infrastructure.
- You will need to understand stress scenarios and calculations.
- You will interact with the Country Risk Management, Credit Risk Management, various Middle Offices, Credit and Market Risk Reporting, Controllers, Finance and Technology.
- Topics covered within the job profile include derivative, loans and commitments, issuer positions, internal country ratings, new business initiatives, country strategy papers, exposure and stress against Country Limits, and other risk analyses.
- Weekly Country Risk Reporting to Senior Management.
- Participate in the collection, aggregation, and analysis of information related to Country Risk for EMEA and APAC regions, providing commentaries for major exposure and stress variances in conjunction with Country Risk Management.
- Crisis Monitoring.
- Assist in ad-hoc data collection and review of information for countries requiring increased scrutiny.
- Contribute to the improvement and automation of the Country Risk reporting process.
- Participate in the continuing development of new exposure/stress management tools.
- Contribute to Project Management and Operating Model working groups.
- Innovate by challenging processes and seeking efficiencies.
- Provide input and participate in various working groups to ensure appropriate capture of data, enhance data aggregation processes and reporting & control procedures.
- Data Quality assessment & review.
- Partner with Country Risk Middle Office/Senior Risk Management/Cross functional teams to proactively identify and analyze issues.
- Influence change and proactively address problems with a control mindset in advance of risk reporting.
Required Qualifications, capabilities and skills:
- Some experience in either Market Risk, Credit Risk, Product Control or Financial Reporting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance related area.
- Understanding of financial products; cross asset knowledge is advantageous.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail including a strong control focus.
- Ability to work on multiple initiatives, prioritize activities and bring tasks to complete closure.
- Basic Microsoft Office & strong Excel skills are required; working knowledge of data science (e.g. Machine learning), analytics platform (e.g. Alteryx) and data visualization tool (e.g. Tableau) will be advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; verbal, written and presentation.
- An ability to develop solid working relationships.
- Good team player who can work well with colleagues of various levels, across multiple locations.
