Role Overview

If you have a background in risk management, then join our team in helping to anticipate and assess the potential impacts of risk across the bank. We’ll look to you to create meaningful, value-added risk reporting for functions or franchise key committees, forums, and dashboards, as well as leading a team to produce insightful, actionable analysis of our risk profile. Hone your risk management capabilities and advance your career in this fast-paced and varied role, with a focus on your continuing development. You’ll work from home some of the time, but you’ll also spend a minimum of two days a week working in the London office.

What you'll do

Working with a wide range of business stakeholders, you’ll interpret risk and control data, enabling management to identify key trends and manage improving or deteriorating risk profiles. You’ll also produce and analyse MI to support risk committees and boards, as well as maintaining and developing reporting and analysis tools to support the reporting of the business risk profile. You’ll be working with business as usual framework and capability teams by providing insights, tracking of data, and correcting exceptions.

Other key elements of the role include:

  • Engaging with stakeholders to ensure that our operational risk system’s risk, issues, and events are managed, tracked, and completed within agreed timescales while observing correct governance.
  • Assisting with the monitoring and tracking of outstanding risk issues and events to ensure timely resolution of remedial action plans and governance through appropriate forums.
  • Understanding the main risks arising in your area of responsibility and how to mitigate them, escalating where unable to comply.
  • Assisting with the updating and circulation of early escalation event processes, events, and losses in line with policy.
  • Working on data lineage in our risk management tool Vantage.
  • Ensuring controls library data is kept up to date and accurate, as well as tracking non-compliance.
  • Utilising Gen AI and data model to ensure all controls in the library are articulated with accurate and complete data.
  • Supporting workstream leads with insights, preparing papers, and communications to a wider audience.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need to be a skilled data analyst with experience of working with risk and controls data, especially using Gen AI and analytics to manage a controls data library in a gatekeeping capacity. You’ll also bring:

  • Experience of working on fast-paced regulatory impacted remediations.
  • General knowledge of how regulatory, political, reputational, and environmental risk issues impact a complex financial services business.
