Job description

Due to continuing company growth, a leading manufacturer and supplier within the flat roofing market is looking for an experienced and dynamic National Business Development Manager to drive UK sales. This role will be ideally suited to a sales professional with experience of the construction, building materials or roofing industry.


BASIC SALARY: £65,000 per annum

LOCATION: UK - Home Based, ideally living centrally within the UK

JOB DESCRIPTION: National Business Development Manager, Country Sales Manager, National Sales Manager - Flat Roofing, Construction


As our UK Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for driving business growth and expanding our market presence across the UK. You will be a vital link between our marketing, specification, technical and product management teams ensuring that the communication between all departments is smooth and coordinated. This is a new role, essential to aid our continuing growth within the UK. Working alongside Project Sales Managers and a technical team, you will be covering the UK meeting with architects, specifiers, consultants and decision makers to increase sales.


Your main responsibilities will be:

  1. Identifying and following up on new business opportunities within the UK flat roofing sector targeting key industry players, contractors and specifiers.
  2. Reporting to the Director and being involved in all stages of the sales process with an 80/20 split between new business development and account management.
  3. Working closely with internal teams providing insight into the flat roofing market to assist in New Product Development.
  4. Customer engagement and relationship management; providing excellent customer service and post-sales support.
  5. Reporting on sales performance, competitor activity and industry trends.

PERSON SPECIFICATION: National Business Development Manager, Country Sales Manager, National Sales Manager - Flat Roofing, Construction


As our National Business Development Manager you will be self-confident in your ability to grow sales within the flat roofing market. Experience within the sector is strongly preferred although candidates from associated backgrounds will be considered.


You will ideally have:

  1. Demonstrable experience in developing new business, sales or account management within the construction, building materials or roofing industries.
  2. A strong understanding of the UK roofing market including market trends and technical aspects.
  3. A UK driving licence and willingness / flexibility to travel.
  4. The experience of working with cross functional teams.
  5. The ability and drive to identify and target new business opportunities.
