Job description

Identify, pursue and deliver new sales revenue opportunities for Raytec.

Maximize revenue from existing customers.

Engage new customers.

Develop new geographic markets & identify new market opportunities.

Build relationships in the target region and identify potential alliance partners of benefit to Raytec.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:
  1. Develop strategic plans and sales strategies to maximize revenue from existing customers, new customers, and markets.
  2. Identify key new customers, market opportunities, and routes to market (including who to target and why).
  3. Monitor and review commercial trends to determine the best markets and prospects to target.
  4. Translate industry trends and market/competitor developments into new business opportunities.
  5. Prepare and make presentations to and negotiate with prospective customers – understanding their requirements.
  6. Develop new contacts and relationships in key target sectors.
  7. Prepare a business plan that clearly identifies goals and objectives, including SWOT (internal strengths & weaknesses, external threats & opportunities) to match internal capability with external opportunity.
  8. Attend workshops, trade shows, and seminars to keep up-to-date on changes in the industry and to build relationships and effective routes to market.
  9. Work across internal departments and with external partners (i.e., sales, marketing, production, technical, agents, distributors) to achieve new business targets.
  10. Assist in the development of a strategic plan for the future of the business.
  11. Manage current and develop new strategic relationships and alliances with third-party companies.
  12. Develop a pipeline of prospects, outlining confidence levels, anticipated revenues, and profitability.
  13. Build pipeline activity into the CRM system.
  14. Adopt a team approach with sales and marketing colleagues to coordinate new business opportunities efficiently & effectively.
  15. Assist with regular review of pricing to meet revenue and profitability goals.
  16. Deliver a monthly revenue forecast and report for New Business Development activities.
  17. Develop sales tools and collateral to support activities.
  18. Track record in developing and implementing new business development strategy.
  19. Ability to build networks with new customers and in new markets.
  20. Ability to organize events and activities related to new market development.
  21. Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  22. Have the ability to focus on specific goals and strive to achieve them.
  23. Energetic and passionate with the ability to work under pressure.
  24. Be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  25. Have a full driving license and be available to travel nationally/globally as required.
  26. Established network of existing business contacts in Raytec’s target sectors.
  27. Knowledge of LED lighting design.
  28. An understanding of selling hazardous products.
Location

The role of Regional Sales Manager is covering the South of the UK, this role is working remotely but MUST be based in South of UK.
