Senior Design Engineer – Medical Devices

Platform Recruitment is partnering with a high-tech medical device company that is developing pioneering technology set to revolutionise the industry. As part of their expansion, they are looking for a Senior Design Engineer with a background in mechanical, biomedical, or industrial design to join their growing R&D team.

This is a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge medical technology, taking products from early-stage concepts through to full-scale production.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop designs from initial concept to fully developed products
2. Design precision components and mechanisms for medical devices
3. Utilise rapid prototyping to test and refine designs
4. Conduct hands-on prototype testing to ensure performance and reliability
5. Compile technical reports to document findings and improvements

Key Requirements:

1. Degree in Mechanical, Biomedical, Industrial Design, or a related discipline
2. Proven experience in building and testing prototypes
3. Experience in medical device development and regulatory considerations
4. Track record of taking a product from concept through to production
5. Strong proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor)
6. Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as injection moulding
