Job description

Join to apply for the Transport Supervisor role at Landau Forte College Derby.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Transport Supervisor to join our Eden Farm Peterlee Depot. Reporting to the Transport Manager, you will be responsible for assisting the smooth-running of the transport department.

Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 42hrs per week. Starting time between 4am and 5am.

Job Description:

  • Ensure that all outbound vehicle deliveries are loaded correctly as per load manifest and safely in accordance with DVSA regulations.
  • Vehicle maintenance and upkeep of fleet.
  • Occasional Paragon planning Replanning Duties.
  • Supervision of driving staff as first point of contact (Night shift) and offer instruction as required.
  • Operational tasks as instructed by the site TM.
  • Pre Brief of day shift drivers (4/5am).
  • Co-ordinate and utilise trunking operations.
  • General admin duties including holiday planning, driver hours (Tachomaster), holiday/sickness administration.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide a start of day brief to driving staff. First point of contact.
  • Liaise with the Company's operation support team to ensure the efficient planning of customer deliveries and utilisation of delivery vehicles and drivers (replanning).
  • Communicate and work with the central team providing feedback to improve route planning and efficient operations.
  • Inspect, identify and report vehicle defects to ensure staff welfare and compliance with health & safety requirements.
  • Vehicle maintenance administration.
  • Agency driver checks/Inductions.
  • Vehicle defect control.
  • Promote Health and Safety attitude.
  • Ensure all company procedures are adhered to.
  • Tachomaster Administration.
  • Ensure all trunks leave OTIF.
  • Telematics and CCTV Management.
  • Breakdown coordinator Nights.
  • Liaise with warehouse teams to address any potential loading issues.
  • Trailer utilisation for trunking vehicles.

Person Specification:

  • You will be up to date with the latest Transport legislation (Drivers Hours, Tachomaster, VOSA FTA knowledge) and possess exceptional communication skills.
  • Good communication skills and computer literate.
  • Excellent communication skills (written/verbal).
  • Confident communicator.
  • Organisational skills.
  • Able to work alone.
