Job description

Apply on JLP Jobs - the official careers website for John Lewis Partnership, John Lewis & Partners, and Waitrose & Partners.

Duties & Responsibilities: As Partners - members of the Partnership - it's our responsibility to ensure our success for the future. We proactively seek out opportunities to continuously improve the way we work, taking action to ensure the Partnership is efficient and we are all as productive as possible. It's an ethos each and every Partner works by and you'll carry into your own role too.

The role of the Team Leader is to support shop Leadership teams to deliver operational and service excellence, by engaging, motivating and leading Partners to meet daily operational requirements. This will involve a range of tasks including the advising and serving of customers, moving and replenishing stock, carrying out housekeeping activities and handling cash and card transactions according to set procedures. You and your Partners may be expected to work in any area of the branch to support the wider team as required and to maintain the necessary business dress and hygiene standards.

Waitrose & Partners is all about enriched experiences and that goes for our people – our Partners – as much as our customers. We want you to enjoy your work and share your passion for food with our customers so we will train you, treat you respectfully and then reward you by giving you a share in the profits, for pulling it all together and being part of our success. We are looking for someone who keeps up to date on food and drink trends, knows our products, takes pride in whatever they do, carrying out everything to the highest standards, making sure the shop floor is shipshape, ready for when our customers arrive.

Whether they are shopping for a healthy lunch, a top up on fresh fruit and veg, the weekly shop or a special occasion, we want every customer to enjoy their shopping experience, confident in our products and confident in our Partners. We are inviting applicants who wish to develop their career with Waitrose and to take on supervisory responsibilities within the operation after successfully completing training.

Desired Experience, Skills & Qualifications:

  1. Experience in a customer facing selling or service environment.

As a Team Leader within one of our Waitrose shops, you'll help our difference be felt by our customers on every visit, providing the Partner-led service and passion for food that our competitors can't compete with - passionate Partners serving food lovers.

Your drive to go the extra mile to help both customers and Partners will make all the difference to the impression our customers have about the Waitrose brand and keep them returning again and again by earning their trust and loyalty for a lifetime. All the while helping to maximise on sales and profit.

Full Time Work (Up to 37.5 hours per week) across seven days to include early starts, late finishes, evenings and rotational weekends.
