1. Post Context/Post Summary
Allied Maritime Command is the Maritime Theatre Component Commander delivering 360 degree maritime focused awareness and connectivity while planning and commanding the full range of maritime operations. The Communications Division provides the Commander with advice and functionality across the full range of Information Operations. The Information Environment Assessment Branch analyses the Information Environment domain, to obtain a comprehensive understanding of how they interact in the engagement space. The Information Environment Analysis Analyst/Data Analyst will work with MARCOM communicators and with the military chain of command to exploit data mining tools to create analytical products that include audience segmentation and assessments to support strategic planning. He/she will apply descriptive, diagnostic, predictive and prescriptive analytics, collaborating with a wide team of NATO stakeholders as they adopt advanced analytics insights.

4. Essential Qualifications
a. Professional/Experience
(1) Data modelling and design
The development of models to represent and communicate data requirements and to enable organisations to understand their data assets and the relationships between real-world entities. The investigation, analysis and scoping of data requirements to support the development of software systems, data integration and data retrieval activities. The iteration, review and maintenance of data requirements and data models.
Skill Level (Ensure/Advise)
Sets standards for data modelling and design tools and techniques, advises on their application, and ensures compliance. Manages the investigation of corporate data requirements, and co-ordinates the application of data analysis, design and modelling techniques, based upon a detailed understanding of the corporate information requirements, in order to establish, modify or maintain data structures and their associated components (entity descriptions, relationship descriptions, attribute definitions). Manages the iteration, review and maintenance of data requirements and data models.
Experience
At least 2 years of post-related experience in:
Proficient experience with Microsoft Office applications and comprehensive knowledge of a data science programming language – preferably SQL and/or Python.
b. Education/Training
University Degree and 2 years function related experience, or Higher Secondary education and completed advanced vocational training leading to a professional qualification or professional accreditation with 4 years post related experience. 6. Attributes/Competencies
• Personal Attributes: Employee requires understanding and developing budgets, resource proposals and informing program of work. Managerial skills are required for program/project management and resource management programs.
• Professional Contacts: Post requires regular professional contacts within and outside the HQ and the organization. The incumbent solicits and provides information as well as advice. The job involves working with contacts within NCS and NFS Commands, as well as civilian organization/stakeholders, and requires high level of maturity, understanding of sensitivities within an international environment and diplomatic tact when dealing with others.
• Contribution To Objectives: The post provides information, assurance and analysis and contributes directly to the planning, initiations and development of wide range of products submitted by HQ. Provide direct feed into both the delivery and assessment of all StratCom messaging objectives.
