  • Security and Compliance: Apply best practices for security and compliance in all network tasks. Proactively identify and address potential security issues in collaboration with the security team.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Communicate progress and challenges to both technical and non-technical audiences. Build relationships with key stakeholders influencing network operations and security.
  • Automation and Innovation: Suggest and implement innovative approaches to improve network efficiency, including the use of Ansible for automating repetitive tasks.
  • Data-Driven Decisions: Identify gaps in necessary data, assist the team in gathering it, and validate decisions through group discussions.
Key Requirements:

  • Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of network technologies, including Cisco Meraki, Cisco Catalyst, Teltonika, Ubiquiti, and cloud networking (AWS, Azure).
  • Problem-Solving and Troubleshooting: Ability to address complex issues and contribute to long-term solutions through proactive engagement.
  • Security Awareness: Solid understanding of network security protocols and compliance standards, with a focus on implementing secure configurations.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Strong team player who values feedback, engages in knowledge sharing, and communicates effectively with stakeholders.
  • Documentation and Process Improvement: Experience maintaining documentation and suggesting improvements to streamline IT operations.
  • Automation Skills: Familiarity with tools like Ansible for automating network configurations and processes is a plus.
Qualifications:

  • Relevant experience as a Network Engineer or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of network protocols and technologies, including switches, routers, and wireless APs.
  • Certifications such as CCNA or equivalent are required; CCNP is beneficial.

  • Proven ability to take ownership of tasks, work independently, and contribute to a team's success.
Additional Requirements:

  • On-Call Rotation: This role includes participation in an on-call rotation to support network operations.
  • Travel Flexibility: Ability to travel to Nuneaton and Burton On Trent as required, with ad hoc visits to other locations, including potential visits to stores across the UK, ROI, and BeNeLux. Travel is demand-led, mostly to meet with the team.
